Position Details

The City of Villa Grove accepting applications for a full-time Chief of Police.

We are looking for a professional individual who brings larger city knowledge and experience but is interested in working for and with the residents of a smaller community.

The position requires a wide range of duties including:

• Shift work/road time
• Scheduling of officers
• Work with city attorneys/other agencies
• Budget monitoring
• Reporting to the Administrator and Council 

The motivated applicant should:

• Be community-oriented
• Possess excellent people and communication skills
• Have both extensive patrol, budget management and supervisory experience
• Have strong computer skills (Microsoft applications and industry-related program experience preferred) 

Active Illinois licensure/PTI Certification or equivalent, background check, and physical/drug screen are required.
