The Search for a New Police Chief

Former Dallas Police Chief Terrell Bolton was fired 8/26/03 and a nationwide search to replace him is underway.

Georgia-based Slavin Management Consultants was awarded at $25,000 contract to find the new chief.

The City announced that the selection would be delayed until May 2004 so they could advertise the position in Police Chief magazine. Assistant City Manager Charles Daniels said of the magazine, "It's read by close to 100 percent of the police chiefs and top police executives in the country. more on this story
